World of Computing Online Single Semester

Discover the exciting world of computer science through creativity, problem-solving, and active course projects!

In World of Computing, students are introduced to the fundamentals of programming using CodeHS and Karel the Dog, a fun and engaging way to learn coding concepts. Beginners will start with easy-to-use drag-and-drop coding blocks and transition to text-based programming as their confidence grows.

This course goes beyond coding by exploring how computers have shaped our world and continue to influence everyday life. Through interactive activities and project-based learning, students are encouraged to think creatively, solve real-world challenges, and bring their own ideas to life.

Students will build valuable skills in logical thinking, collaboration, and digital literacy while gaining a strong foundation for future studies in computer science and technology.

To support learning and measure progress, each lesson includes short quizzes that help students check their understanding. At the end of every unit, students complete a comprehensive assessment that demonstrates their mastery of key concepts and skills.
